To the Clayton Burnett family: We started as children playing up and down the street and around A and T. (Charlie and Clayton) Then we met again as colleagues at Smith High School. His voice and laughter and friendship are so worth remembering. What an awesome person and friend. Time brought us together again when my daughter, Nattale, married Charlie's son, Jeffrey. Then again when my grandson, Vonii was at Dudley with Jessica. God continues to bless us with the presence of wonderful people into our lives as time goes on. To Geraldine, the boys and Jessica: May your memories of your husband and father always soothe your hearts and soften the pain of your loss. May God pour his blessings upon you. I remember telling Clayton several years ago, when I accepted a job in Dallas, Tx, after finishing College in 1979(NCA&T) I told him I was going to drive my 1969 Chevy all the way. But I told Clayton I don't know if it would make it. Clayton said " Colley" I tell you what, bring your car to the school shop and I I will get my students to go through it bumper to bumper to check it out. Clayton use that as a teaching opportunity. I made it thanks to my friend Clayton, I am sure I am not the only person he reached out to, because that was he did. Clayton "I made " It"is what I told him when I came back to Greensboro, Thanks again my brother...RIP I will continue to pray for your family.Colley Hood , Dudley Class of 1965.
