Ms. Glenda Jo Anderson
A Homegoing Service for Ms. Glenda Jo Anderson will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Calvary Seventh Day Adventist Church, 4902 N. 40th Street, Tampa, Florida 33610, Dr. Larry E. Johnson, Senior Pastor with Dr. Moses Brown, officiating. Glenda Jo Anderson was born in Plant City, FL. on January 23, 1941, to Elsie Mae Washington. At four years of age, Glenda was adopted by Annette Brown, also from Plant City. Glenda was aware of her desire to nurse from a tender age, and resolved to go to school for nursing as soon as she was of age. Glenda attended L.P.N. school in Hinsdale ,Illinois in 1959, at the age of 18. Upon graduating, she returned to Plant City to practice as a nurse at Plant City Hospital and Lakeland Regional Hospital. In 1962, Glenda attended Andrews University, in Berrien Springs, Michigan, to attain her R.N. credentials. Glenda returned to Plant City in 1964, and was married to Noel Anderson from 1965 to 1997. Glenda birthed two beloved sons,whom she cherished more than anything: Delvert Anderson, born in 1969, and Delvon Anderson, born in 1975. Glenda finished her R.N. degree in 1976 from Polk County Community College, working at Tampa General Hospital aftersecuring her license.Glenda practiced as a nurse for the duration of her life, providing care for AIDS patients, cancer patients, the elderly, and young children. Glenda was devoted to her Christian Faith, and attended both Mt Calvary S.D.A. church and Plant City Emmanuel S.D.A. church, where she was the resident pianist for 30 years. Glenda’s greatest joys were God, her family, friends, gardening, cooking, knitting, sewing, music, reading, holistic health, singing, and playing the piano. Glenda passed away on February 24, 2022. She leaves with love, Delvert “Leon” Anderson and Delvon Anderson, Myles Davis-Anderson, Shayla Montes, Danielle Anderson, Jas Anderson, Lla Anderson, and Eli Anderson, Iris Anderson and Bonita Black, Sheyenne Black and Jasmyene Black, Dion, Damion, Denisha, and David Dehaney, Dahlia Dehaney, Krystal Brown, Roye-Ann Burks, Moses Brown, Jeanette Brown, Maurice Brown, and Ricky Adams, as well as the nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, colleagues, and individuals touched by her loving heart. We will miss her beaming smile, deep laugh, operatic voice, quick wit, compassion, nurturance, and unwavering faith. She touched the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. Until we meet again, our beautiful, beloved Glenda.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022, 6-8 p.m. at Integrity Funeral Services, 3822 E. 7th Avenue Tampa, Florida 33605.
Although I haven't seen my cousin Glenda in many decades, I will always remember her caring and thoughtful manner and living a life that reflects Christian values. I am sorry for the passing of my sister-in-law Glenda. She has been an inspiration to me growing up and will be missed. To the family, be strong and faithful so we can all meet Sister Glenda again when the roll is called by God. Be blessed
