The Obituary I have fought a good fight and I have finished my course. I have kept the faith II Timothy 4:7 Lamar Allen transitioned from this earthly life on February 9,2022 after a lengthy illness.

He was born on September 9, 1946 to the late Russell Allen and Edna Manning Allen in Barney, GA.

After finishing high school, he later moved to New Jersey where he worked as a foreman at Atlantic Concrete Co. For over 30 years until he retired. His hobbies were fishing and sitting in the backyard listening to old music. His favorite sport team was the Miami Dolphins. He also loved horse racing and spending time with family and his grandchildren. Lamar Allen preceded in death by his siblings, William Russell Allen, Johnny Allen Sr., Mary Grades, Amelia “Tina” Snow, Hannah Allen; and one grandson, Demetrius Daniels. Lamar loving memories will be cherished forever by his children, Sydney Lamar Allen of Adel, GA, Brenda K. Scurry (Jerome) of Valdosta, GA, Charles “Chucky” Bethea, Delmar Francis Bethea of Trenton, New Jersey, and Kimble Peterson (Ben) of Moultrie, GA; three brothers, Tommy Allen (Annie Pearl), Eddie Allen (Ann), and Herman Allen (Shirley); ten grandchildren, Devonte’ Lamar Allen, Caterrious Lamar Allen, Marika Grant, Adrian Morrison, Aron Story, Votajsie Bethea, Quintin Daniels, Nathaniel Baker III, and Te’asti Daniels; sixteen great grandchildren; three bonus grandchildren; Juanesha Scurry, Jadariah Scurry, and Joshua Scurry; one more great grandchild, Kylar Smith who he nicknamed “Grinees”; one god-daughter, Monique Bethea of Albany, GA; a best friend, Eugene Palmer; also a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that loved him very much.
