Jerry was a graduate of the Springfield Massachusetts school system. He was employed as a roofer for over 37 years with United Union of Roofers and Slayers local #248. Jerry loved his trade so well but enjoyed retirement so much more. Upon retiring early, he could be found being a couch potato watching his westerns in his pajamas and had no problem staying home. Jerry’s favorite life motto was “don’t make your problem my problem, your emergency is not my urgency.” Jerry relocated back to Virginia where he married his beloved wife Bonita Phillips. Jerry was blessed to have been married by his brother-in-law Rev. Lovell Ford.
Jerry leaves behind to continue his legacy; his wife: Bonita Phillips; three daughters and five grandchildren. Jerry celebrated his life with his siblings, he leaves behind Clyde S. Phillips (Blanche) of Gastonia NC, Percy Phillips of Dallas TX, Herman Phillips (Angie) of Springfield MA, Marilyn Caffee (Raymond), Eldora Ford (Lovell), Valerie Waldon (Wayne) all of Virginia Beach, VA and a host of nieces and nephews and long line of family & friends.
