Obituary For Mr. Charles Fitzhugh Terry

Mr. Charles Fitzhugh Terry departed this life on February 12, 2022. He was born in Marlboro County, SC on August 26, 1955, a son of the late Mr. Johnell Meekins and Ms. Susie Mae Terry. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, John Dewey Terry and Ulysses Ingram; a grandson, Christopher Brooks Sellers, Jr.; two uncles, Gary Terry, Jr., and Alford Terry; an aunt, Bernice Covington.

Charles was educated in the public schools of Clio, SC, and was a 1975 high school graduate. He accepted Christ at an early age, and joined the New Zion A.M.E. Zion Church of Dillon County, SC. Charles joined the United States Army on September 6, 1976, where he served an enlistment of 10 years. He united in matrimony to Gloria Ann Breeden.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his daughters, Veronica Wade (Bryant) of Aurora, CO, Priscilla Terry (Jameel Zimmerman) of High Point, NC, and Jocelyn Terry (Maurice Bingham) of Clio, SC; grandchildren, TyDashia and TyQashia Sellers of High Point, NC, Demareon Bingham of Bennettsville, SC, Sydney and Spencer Wade, of Aurora, CO; a brother, James Robert Ingram of Philadelphia, PA; a special aunt, Julia Meekins of Clio, SC; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel.
