Victor Mature Cates at the age of 56 gained entrance to his heavenly home on Sunday January 23, 2022.

Victor was born on March the 2, 1965 in Sweetwater, TN to the late Harold Smith and Mary Cates. He excepted Christ at an early age. He had a vivid love for music and making others laugh. He loves to entertain people. He had a smile that would light up the room. Victor could be seen while driving through town on his motorcycle.

Preceded in death by his father Harold Smith and mother Mary Cates, brother Samuel Cates, sister Robin Cates Workman.

Left to treasure his memory: sons; Victor Cates Jr., Nicholas Cates, and Aaron Cates. His 4 grandchildren, siblings, Towana Cates, Jerome Cates, Stepfon Cates, Evetta Chandler, Marcelle Cates, Valerie (Darryl) Stewart, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and numerous friends.

Mr. Cates will lie in state on Friday, January 28, 2022 from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the Unity Mortuary Chapel.

There will be a viewing from 12:00-1:00 p.m. for family and friends on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the Unity Mortuary Chapel.
