Sumter, SC Anthony Fernantra “Ant” Reed was born February 7, 1976 in Kingstree, South Carolina t Andrew M. Reed and the late Elsie M. Pendergrass-Reed. He was preceded in death by four siblings: Perry, Angela, Letina and Lester, paternal grandparents, Mack and Annie Whack Reed, maternal grandparents, Deacon James, Sr. (Ruth Dingle) Pendergrass and Mildred Pendergrass, three aunts, Mamie L. Carraway, Ida Burgess and Rosa L. Goodwin, and one uncle, James Pendergrass, Jr. and one brother-in-law, Herbert Bradley. He was educated in the public schools of Clarendon County and received a South Carolina GED. At an early age, Anthony attended the Progressive Church of Jesus in Manning, South Carolina. He was employed by Willie’s Paint and Body Shop, PSSI Sanitation and QSI for the past nine years. Anthony loved fishing, playing cards, spending time with is family and was a huge jokester. He enjoyed making people laught and being outdoors.

On Wednesday, January 12, 2022, Anthony Reed departed this earthly life. Those left to cherish his memories are: his wife, Samantha Robinson Reed, Sumter, SC; three daughters, Unique Harris, DreʹShawna Sweat and DaʹYana Sweat all of Sumter, SC; one son, KaʹVeon Prothro, Sumter, SC; one grandson, Aiyden Singletary, Sumter, SC; father, Andre M. Reed, Thomasville, NC; two brothers, Timothy Reed, Sr., Winston-Salem, NC and Curtis Reed, Manning, SC; two sisters, Carolyn Reed, Manning, SC and Latasha (Jessie) Calvin, Alcolu, SC; mother-in-law, Nora (Lewis) Prince, Sumter, SC; three brothers-in-law, Willie Green, Tommy (Paula) Robinson and Kelvin Robinson all of Sumter, SC; one sister-in-law, Nikkie Robinson, Sumter, SC; close cousin and friend, Timothy (Angieleka) Pendergrass, Dazell, SC, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Public viewing held from 4:00PM til 6:00PM Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Hayes F. Samuels, Sr. Memorial Chapel, 114 N. Church Street, Manning, SC.

Funeral services were held 1:00 PM Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Weldon Auditorium 7 Maple St., Manning, SC

The family received friends at his residence, 1849 Roche Road, Sumter, SC.
