Roland, the fourth child of the late Lawrence McFadden and Margert McIntosh McFadden, was born November 30, 1960, in Clarendon County, South Carolina.

In 1980, Roland graduated from East Clarendon High School where he was an active participate in various sports, to include football, basketball, and baseball.

Upon leaving high school, Roland sought employment with Coker Builders. During his tenure with Coker Builders, he traveled to several states building and setting-up modular homes. After the closing of Coker Builders, Roland was employed with W.E. Lee Flowers and Company, Inc. where he served as the Warehouse and Reclamation Supervisor.

Roland had a keen business desire to strive for independence. He was owner and operator of McFadden Detailing and Auto Shop. He established a ministry of detailing, washing, and selling cars on main street in Turbeville. SC. He displayed always and attitude of gratitude by hard work, loyalty, kindness, and honesty. He was an entrepreneur that employed school-age students to help them academically. He was an East Clarendon High School Booster supporter.

Roland had a strong passion for helping people. He was instrumental in bringing a Food Bank to Oak Grove AME Church. This program served as a helping hand to approximately 200 families from surrounding counties…Florence, Clarendon, Marion, Sumter, Rock Hill, Myrtle Beach and Williamsburg.

Roland has been recognized in several areas of the W.E. Lee and Company to include the Warehouse, Reclaim and Recoup Supervisor. One of his many responsibilities was working with Health South, now known as E-Compass he and his team set-up a model store/living situation for teaching and helping strokes and other disable person learns how to apply daily living skills.

On Monday, January 3, 2022, at his home, Roland answered the call issued by his Savior, “Come unto me my faithful servant…” Roland leaves to cherish his memories five siblings: Anne (Willie T.) McFadden, Turbeville, SC; Harry Lee (Elsie) McFadden, Columbia, SC; Randy McFadden, Temple Hill, MD; Gwendolyn McFadden, Louisville, KY, Everette (Ellen) McFadden, Manning, SC; five nephews include, Jvon (Michelle) Barnes, Charlotte, NC; Kolongi McFadden, Turbeville, SC; Justin Wells, Columbia, SC, Dr. Leon (Alexis) Lee, Beaufort, SC, Chauncy Barnes, Tuberville, SC; Detrick Gamble, Charlotte, NC; four nieces, Aailyah McFadden, Kamonta McFadden and Tyliaha McFadden all of Manning, SC; one preceded him in death, Hillary Davis; three aunts, Dr. Emma Owen, Greenville, SC, Bettye King, Virginia, Pearl (Charles) Graham, Florence, SC; special thanks to a dedicated friend, Michelle Daniels, Lake City, SC.

Graveside services were held 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at the Old McFadden Cemetery, St. James Road, Lake City, SC.

In accordance with the safety guidelines during the Corona Virus Pandemic, the family did not receive friends at the home.
