Funeral services for Mr. Al Rivers, 66, of 111 Courage Lane, Orangeburg, SC, will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel, 2868 Columbia Road, Orangeburg, SC, with interment to follow in the Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC. Reverend Julius C. Sistrunk is officiating.

Al Rivers the son of the late Samuel Rivers and Evelyn Copeland was born June 21, 1955,0 in Bamberg, South Carolina. He entered into eternal rest on December 23, 2021.

Upon graduation from Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School, Al joined the United States Army, where he received the Good Conduct Medal. After receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1979, Al became employed by the County of Orangeburg as a truck driver.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories, one daughter, Tir’sa Moore; two grandchildren: Al’Quandria Moore and Amauri Valentin; four sisters: Barbara Goodson, Darlene Davis, Theresa Wroten and Arleen Hankerson; three brothers: Larry (Chandra) Copeland, Leon (Clarisse) Copeland, III and James (Diana) Copeland; three special aunts: Vernell Rivers, Earthell Sherman, and Connie Walker; a very close friend, Riley Deas; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and close family and friends.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 3, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
