Obituary For Mrs. Barbara A. Buchanan

Minister Barbara Ann Chambers Buchanon, daughter of the late Archie and Jewel Scott Chambers was born in Washington, DC on June 23, 1943. She went home to be with her Heavenly Father on December 26, 2021 at Forrest Oakes Healthcare Center, Albemarle, NC.

Minister Buchanon attended the public schools of Anson County. She served for many years as a CNA at Stanly Memorial Hospital, Albemarle, NC.

She confessed Christ at an early age. Later in life, she received a call from God and quickly answered. She was ordained a Minister at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, Wadesboro, NC where she served faithfully until moving to Albemarle, NC. There, she united with Resurrection Community Church under the leadership Pastor Michael Stovall. She served faithfully and diligently as a Minister until her health failed.

Minister Buchanon was the founder of Circle of Love, an outreach program for women.

Minister Buchanon united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Jesse Buchanon who preceded her in death after 40 years of marriage.

Left to forever cherish her memories are her five (5) loving children, Pam (Sherman) Little of Wadesboro, NC, Fredonia Thompson of Wadesboro, NC, Edward “Teddy” Thompson of Chester, Virginia, Howard Thompson of Amarillo, Texas and Edwina (Grover) Shankle of Charlotte, NC. Her grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Devina, Calvin, Jonathan, Melody, Prestocia, Erin, Jada and Caleb. A host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Two siblings, Thomas (Rosia) Chambers and Robin Chambers both of Wadesboro, NC; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Minister Buchanon will be not only missed by her children but by the community of which she served. Her memory will forever be etched in our hearts.

The Homegoing Services will be on Sunday, January 2, 2022, 2:00pm, Resurrection Community Church, Albemarle, North Carolina. Interment will be in Sides Cemetery, Albemarle, North Carolina.

The viewing will be on Sunday, January 2, 2022 from 1:00-1:45pm at Resurrection Community Church, Albemarle, North Carolina.
