Funeral service for Dorothy Burgess, 76, of Paterson City, NJ, formerly of Auburn, AL, will be at 12:00 noon, Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Green Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 390 Lee Road 106, Auburn, AL 36830 with interment in the church cemetery, Reverend Roland Austin will officiate.

Mrs. Burgess, who passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021 in Paterson City, NJ, was born December 18, 1944, in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Friday, December 3, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (Facial covering is required). Mrs. Burgess will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

She leaves to cherish her memory: husband, Louis Burgess of Auburn, AL; six children, Jermaine (Corina) Burgess of Hackensack, NJ, Alvin Burgess of Paterson City, NJ, Sherri (Hassan) Jackson of Prospect Park, NJ, Jeanine Burgess of Brooklyn, NY, Jamilah Burgess of East Orange, NJ and Jamil Burgess of Newark, NJ; three sisters-in-law, Carolyn (Allen) Gailes of Teaneck, NJ, Betty Ann Epps of Columbia, SC and Betty Jo Griffin of Inglewood, NJ; one brother-in-law, Rodney (Della) Burgess of Camden, SC; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
