Sister Annie Ruth Wilkerson, 78 a lifelong resident of Quitman, GA., answered her heavenly Father’s call to join the caravan of saints on Wednesday November 3, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Williams and Lillie Mae Williams; sister Roberta McQueen and Alnita Brown; a great-grandson Daniel Smith.
Mrs. Annie Ruth Wilkerson loved the Lord and accepted him as her redeemer early in her life. She worshiped at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church in Quitman, GA. She was a faithful secretary, usher and choir member.
Mrs. Annie loved her family and enjoyed the memorable times they spent together. She always added on an extra unconditional loving touch to remind her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that they were very special to her.
Annie Ruth Wilkerson was a hard worker of many years at BC Packing Company and the Ollie Sheppard Café. With the extra time she had during retirement, Annie was able to do things she really loved to do. Work in the garden, spend time with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She was compassionate, helpful, dependable and concerned for well-being of others. Annie also loved listening to music and dancing. Because she was very sociable, Annie was expected to be the life of the party.
Sister Annie R. Wilkerson willingly accepted her heavenly Father call from labor to reward.
Her love and legacy will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew her. Forever cherishing her loving and precious memories are her devoted husband of 32 years, Willie James Wilkerson, Carolyn (William) Alexander of Quitman, GA, Wilbur (Kelly) Williams of Huntsville, AL, Wayne (Detra) Silas, Tony Silas of Quitman, GA; brother Benjamin (Louvenia) Williams of Atlanta, GA; she also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild Mariah K. Stewart; sister-n-laws Wilma Wilkerson and Cora Wright both of Quitman, GA. And Ann Dennard of Valdosta, GA; brother-n-laws Ronnie Brown and Glen Brown both of Quitman, GA; her godchildren Sheba Mitchell, Felicia Patterson, Marquez Washington, Dequan Evans and Ashley Evans; a very special nephew James Brown Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; a very special friend for 50 years Bernice Ponder of Valdosta, GA, Darlene Wooten, Maggie Andrews, Eva Waters, all of Quitman, GA; one preceded her in death Mary Ann Washington of Quitman, GA; a special recognition to a very Special mother-in-law Julia Mae Brown and the late Albert Brown; dedicated yardman Roderick Frazier and Floyd Washington with many more sorrowing relatives and loving friends.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 1PM on the Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home Lawn with Dr. James Redmon, eulogist.
