Obituary For Jamie S. Bey

Jamie S. Bey, 27, of Harrisburg, transitioned into eternal life on Monday, October 25, 2021 in Harrisburg. She was born in Harrisburg, daughter of James Leroy Bey and Esther Mae Sinkler, she received her formal education in the Harrisburg School District and during her working career; she held several jobs in warehouses in the Harrisburg area and presently, she was employed as a caregiver for her uncle. Jamie was nurtured under the spiritual guidance and dedication of both Mother Billie Screven and Sister Sandra Kiser. She was first introduced to Mother Screven and then the Lord would have them work as a team in her spiritual welfare. Shortly thereafter, she accepted the Lord as her personal Savior and became a member of Emanuel Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop David M. Screven. She loved going to not only Church, but also Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. During Jamie’s high school years one of her family’s friends, Iris Govan, who grew up with Jamie’s mother, was employed at the high school and became a positive influence in Jamie’s life. She always reminded her to make good choices and stay out of trouble. In her leisure, she enjoyed spending time with her children and her mother. They all were the joy of her life. Her most enjoyment was going to church and she loved ministering to her family and friends. When they would act inappropriately, she would say, you need Jesus. You have issues and you need Jesus in your life with a very serious look. Jamie enjoyed watching TV especially musical shows and comedy programs. She loved cooking, caring for others, listening to music, playing cards, bingo and going to casinos. Her maternal grandfather, Freddie Sinkler, Sr.; her paternal grandmother, Barbara Bey Howell; and her grandmother, Bereniece Wilkerson all preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish precious memories of her and their life together; her twin sons, Jamere Bey and Jaymere Bey; her son, Tamere Bey and her daughter, Jasmine Bey, all at home in the city of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; her mother, Esther Mae Sinkler of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; her father, James Leroy Bey of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; her step-father, Larry Dodd of Washington, DC; her brother, Eugene Grant; her sisters, Jaquanna Sinkler and Taquanna Bey; her youngest brother, Jujuan Sinkler; her maternal grandmother, Grace Sinkler Douglas and her husband, Brian Douglas; her paternal grandfather, Jimmy Jackson; her maternal aunt and her husband, Nina Sinkler Carter and Carl Carter; her maternal uncle and his wife, Freddie Sinkler, Jr. and Janel Sinkler, all of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; her paternal uncle and aunts, Juan Johnson, Charlotte Bey and Octiva Bey; her uncles, Ruben Ivey and Minister Larry Howell, both of New Jersey and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
