Obituary For Fredrick Mixon

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., Garden Memorial Park, 8001 Highway 49, Jackson, MS 39209.

Fredrick Mixon was born February 16, 1959 in Los Angeles, California to the proud parents Vertis Lee Mixon and Deborah Hubbard Mixon. He was the second born of this marriage. Fredrick accepted the Lord as his personal savior at an early age at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church under Rev. Wilhite in Los Angeles. In 1967, the family relocated to Jackson, Mississippi, where Fred lived until his transition on October 25, 2021. Fred attended Sallie Reynolds Elementary School, Blackburn Junior High School, Provine High School, and Jackson State University. Fred was skilled and handy at so many trades, including automotive repair, electrical work, plumbing, construction, painting, carpeting, and roofing. However, his true love was lawncare. If you had Fred as your lawncare professional, you had a lovely, routinely, well-kept yard. Fred loved jazz music and could actually sing and dance. He loved the Lord, and attended The Jackson Revival Center Church. He loved his family and friends and would do anything to assist or help in a situation. Fredrick Mixon is survived by a son, TaMerral Jaye Mixon (Mother, Bennie Smiley Mixon-deceased), and a daughter Talia Marie Mixon (Mother, Iisha Barnes), one sister, Dr. Teresa Mixon Perkins (Dr. Issac Perkins, Issac Rene Perkins, Dr. Tiffany Perkins Washington, Dr. Tracie Perkins Fullove), two brothers, Ernie Mixon (Kamille Mixon Bryner, Jabari Mixon), and Donnell Mixon. He is also survived by his Uncle Dorsey Mixon (Luberta Mixon), Ernest Mixon (Dian Mixon), and Calvin Lee Hubbard (Evelyn Hubbard). Fred was blessed with a host of grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins, in-laws, and precious friends who will all miss "Big Fred" dearly. Fred bravely boarded that old "Ship of Zion", crossed that blessed Jordan River, and leaped into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We thank God for sending the Holy Ghost Spirit to comfort us here on Earth waiting for our turn to get on board. God bless each of you who have read about Fred's journey.
