My name is Willie Curleychief and I was in AIT with Curtis and we both got stationed at Camp Essayons, Uijongbu, South Korea in 1990. We were in supply together and also roommates. Curtis and I were truly close and shared a lot of craziness over there! Prayers and love going out to the family and to pops. I'm so sorry to hear of this. Curtis brightened up this world in many, many ways! I'll look for Curtis's sister in Lawton, OK as that's where I'm located. All my love, ah-ho.

Curt and i served together at Carson, F co 4th avn. we deployed to Somalia as battle buddies. A shortened story for everybody. while in Somalia we would take mortar fire every so often, well they could never hit anything so myself and Curtis decided to cut some chem lights open and throw it on the volleyball court to give them a target. well we left the tent kevlar helmet and flak vest on. well i stumbled a few times spilling most of the juice on myself after the 1st time curt was laughing so i started chasing him with the intention of lighting him up with a little juice. well that didn't happen as i spilled the rest on myself. well that night we happen to receive incoming fire closest yet and immediately from a sleep hopped up got vest helmet and rifle and ran to the bunker. we'll needless to say we were in light suppression whole base went dark except one idiot running around like a human roman candle, we had good laughs recalling that one. miss you curt, rest easy warrior! your brother always, Ron.

To the family. Words can not express the hurt that im feeling for you guys. We've been friends since we met overseas in Italy. Those were the best times, especially when we traveled around during track season. Curtis was like my big brother. It hurts to know that you're no longer here, but I know God needed you there with him. I pray your hearts be comforted from God love and he will ease the pain. Love you all.

That smile, can light up a room, STILL, if I were to put your picture on display in a dark room I'd never have to light a candle or turn on any sort of light. From day ONE we clicked, my dude, always blowing each other up, putting each other on a pedestal and then cracking up laughing. Talking sports, trucking, politics, religion, military, the ladies, or whatever it may be, we would talk about it, always loved when you talked about Italy and how much you loved it there, and telling me about your life experiences being a father, which you loved, being a husband, soldier, or driver which you were damn good at. You know I play pool now hoping that I'd have a partner like you to play along with, we'd stay up late almost every night playing pool, swearing that some of the players were using cheat codes to beat us, lol... playing Madden or MLB The Show. I still laugh at how we both hated a lot of today's music, laughing at how some of these cats mumble, but definitely loved a lot of the same grooves. I can go on and on and on and on, we have so many memories i'd love to share with my nephews and niece, Sis, & friends, we did create those, and memorareble conversations. You are one humble, loving, intelligent, caring, hard-working, and understanding brotha, and I'm going to miss you. Some people come into our lives and they never come close to making an impact on us or our lives, but you did that, you are more closer to me than my own blood brothers, thus why this hurts so much, just seems like we had so much more to experience in this life, it may be good-bye for now, but until we catch up again on the other side, the infamous Big Daddy Curt aka BDC... I love you, Curt
