Obituary For Anna Brown Davis

In life Anna Margaret Brown Davis was loved dearly; in death, she is loved just the same. The family’s chain is broken, and things don’t seem the same, but as God calls us one by one the chain will link again. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 22, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Matthew A.M.E. Churchyard, Hill Street, Louisville, Georgia Public viewing will be held at Davis Funeral Home, Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 3:00 to 7:00 P.M. Anna Margaret was born in Louisville, Georgia, to the parentage of the now late Freddie Randolph Brown and Thelma Washington. She was raised in a loving and Christian home with her mother and her stepfather, the late, Casper Combs II, along with her siblings. After the passing of her mother, her grandmother Carter (Baby Doll) Washington answered the call to provide a loving home for Anna and her siblings. Anna, like her parents and siblings, joined in Christian fellowship at the Saint Matthew African Methodist Episcopal Church. On, Wednesday, October 6, 2021 Anna Margaret’s appointed time with Destiny was fulfilled when she fled her armor of flesh to gain her raiment of glory while she was a patient at Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital, New York. She attended Jefferson County Schools and graduated from the original Jefferson County High School in 1966. Desiring to pursue a better life for herself, she relocated to New York City, where she enrolled in college. It was in New York where she gained rewarding and fulfilling employment with the New York State Developmental Disabilities Service Organization, from which she eventually retired as a Developmental Aide Supervisor in 2015. Anna Margaret lived and enjoyed life to the fullest. She obtained her Cosmetology License from the state of New York. Ever the entrepreneur, she established a business, Project 2000, a natural hair product line. Anna dreamed of visiting the sites of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She accomplished that dream with a journey on a solo tour of Israel and the Holy Land. Her employment experiences also included program coordinator for Olin Water Services, secretary at New York Telephone Company, and other business establishments in the New York area. Anna Margaret was a loving daughter, a great “big” sister, a loyal aunt, cousin and friend; however, her greatest accolade was being a fiercely loving, protective mother and a devoted grandmother. When she stepped from Time to the never-ending realm of Eternity, she joined loved ones already gone before her: namely mother and stepfather, Thelma Washington and Casper Combs II, her grandmother Carter (Baby Doll) Washington, father Freddie Randolph Brown and her two siblings, Dennis Combs and Sandra Kay Combs also preceded her in death. She enjoyed great adventure and companionship with her soul mate, Sammie Lee Cunningham, who stepped from Time to Eternity before Anna Margaret. Death claims the body; God claims the soul. It is left to the living to embrace the legacy of the dead. Anna Margaret’s legacy will remain forever in the hearts and lives of her children, James Anderson Davis of Louisville, Georgia and Delores Chantel Dotson - Robnett, MD, MPH, (husband - Timothy Marcell Robnett) of Saint Charles, Missouri, as well as her grandson Kaden Theodore Johnson. She will always be lovingly remembered by her siblings: Brenda W. Jones, Samuel Washington, Janice (Clarence) Patterson, Thelma D. Washington, Glen Roy Washington, Casper (Sherry) Combs III, Patricia C. Gamble, Catherine (David) Henderson. She will also be remembered by Aunts: Catherine (Sister) Washington, Deola Washington and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

I did not know Anna Brown Davis, but I do know her daughter who is a wonderful, kind, competent, and Go's loving person. I feel confident that these traits were taught to her by her mother. I pray that you, Anna Brown Davis, are smiling, laughing, and loving being home with God. I also pray for your family still here for on Earth that they will be comforted knowing you are home.
