Willie Mae Thompson Henderson

Tallahassee - Mrs. Willie Mae Thompson Henderson was born October 28,1933 to the late Albertha and Bill Thompson Sr. She attended Public Schools in Leon county. After accepting Christ in her life at the age of 12, she joined Elizabeth Poplar Springs Primitive Baptist Church. She was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Rev. Elijah Henderson Sr., on November 1, 1952 and to this union 6 children were born. Married for 49 years, her most important position was was "MOM". Having a spouse, 6 children and 2 dogs kept her very busy, all the time. But, with God as her guide, she persevered.

She was a member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Tallahassee, FL. She remained faithful to the Lord until she was called to go home on Wednesday, October 13, 2021.

She leaves to cherish four daughters, Cynthia Henderson, Debra Henderson-Manley (Jerry), Jacqueline Henderson and Sylvia Henderson; two sons, Wallace Henderson (Emma) and Mark Henderson; four grandchildren, Dominique Colston, Nneka Katie Abara, Lywilla Henderson and John Henderson; two sisters, Winnie Thompson of Tallahassee and Leola Hollinger of Avon Park, Florida; four brothers, Freddie Thompson (Vergelene), Earl Thompson (Rutha), Herbert Thompson (Fannie) and John Thompson (Reatha) all of Tallahassee; two sister in laws, Victoria Henderson Smith and Evelyn Henderson Nims; seven great grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Robinson and five brothers, Bill Thompson Jr., Earnest William, Algia Thompson, David Thompson and Isaiah Thompson.

Graveside service will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Tallahassee Memory Gardens, 4037 N. Monroe Street.

Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted. May God Comfort and bless and hold you ever so close. While my heart is sad, I yet rejoice because I KNOW Sister Henderson loved The Lord and and HIs people. My family and I will forever cherish the years of fellowship and love she shared.
