Obituary For Sarah Dixon

Manning, SC Sarah Jane Ballard Dixon, daughter of the late Gabe Ballard and Gerture Ballard was born October 8, 1936 in the Jordan community of Clarendon County. She was educated in the Jordan School.

She was a lifelong member of Mt. Sinai Fire Baptized Holiness Church. She was joined in holy matrimony to the late Leon Dixon. Sarah Jane Ballard Dixon departed this life on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Pruitt Health of Orangeburg, South Carolina. She leaves to cherish her memories: seven loving daughters: Sarah (Homer) Smith, Ada (Frederick) Kennedy, Margaret (Albert) Brown, Arletha (Allen) James, Lisa Whitfiield, Laura Whitfield and Margie Whitfield all of Manning, SC; one whom she reared as her own, Shirley Jones of Manning, SC; six devoted sons: Lee Ronnie Dixon, Eddie Dixon, Alvin (Sandra) Dixon, Michael Whitfield, and Junior Dickson all of Manning, SC; Kenny (Shavonna) Whitfield of Highpoint, NC; two sisters, Mary Alice Jones of Miami, FL and Janie White of Baltimore, MD; twenty-five grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Public viewing was held Wednesday, October 20, 2021 fro 4:00PM til 6:00PM at the funeral home.

Graveside services were held 11:00AM Thursday, October 21, 2021 a Mt. Sinai Fire Baptized Holiness Church, Bloomville,SC. Minister Germain Dixon, officiated; Pastor Matthew Singleton, Minister Marcus Gibson, Pastor Handsome Major, assisted.

The family received friends at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Sarah "Kitty" and Homer Smith, 1109 Leo Road, Manning, SC.
