Mother Cassie Jaymaude Hankins-Hill, daughter of the late Harold Hankins and Carrie Lee Conyers Hankins was born January11, 1937 in Clarendon County. She was preceded in death by one brother, Alton Hankins and three sisters, Lorie Hankins, Emma Lee Spry and Ruth Ann Collins.

She received her formal education in the public schools of Clarendon County. At an early age, she accepted Christ and attended Zion Hill Baptist Church in Paxville, South Carolina and years later became a member of Macedonia Fire Baptized Holiness Church in the Silver community where she served faithfully. She was on the Mother’s Board, Trustee Secretary, Missionary Department and sang on the choir. Upon reaching womanhood, she met and married the late Reverend Jimmy Hill. “Jaymaude”, as she was affectionately called was employed as a domestic provider for most of her adult life. Cassie Jaymaude was a very special person. The evidence of her love and caring for others was reflected in the lives she touched. On Tuesday, October 12, 2021, God claimed his gift to humanity, Cassie Jaymaude Hankins-Hill to rest from her earthly labors, peacefully and quietly at McLeod Health in Florence, South Carolina. She leaves to cherish her memories, a loving and devoted son, Tommy (Willie Mae) Spry; a dedicated niece, Lillie Ruth Peterson and nephew, John Edward Peterson; one sister, Beulah Lee Cole of Baltimore, MD; one stepsister, Annie Lizzie Canty of Wedgefield, SC; one close friend, Pastor Annie L. Riley; one devoted cousin, Deaconess Geraldine Anderson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Gravesides service for Mrs. Hill was held 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 19, 2021 Macedonia FBH Church Cemetery, Silver, SC. Pastor Annie L. Riley officiated; Pastor Wilfred Roach, Pastor Dr. Ethel W. Sweat and Pastor Tonie Mellette assisted.

The family received friends at the home of her son, Tommy Spry, 3422 Home Branch Road, Manning, SC.
