Donnie Eugene Sloan was born to the late Ronnie Sloan and Eddie Lou Sloan in Quitman, Georgia on June 2, 1961.
At an early age he became a member of Shumate Street Church of Christ.
Donnie was a graduate of Brooks County High School. He was a truck driver for 35 years. He was employed with Scale Express.
Donnie enjoyed spending time with family and was known for being a outstanding pool player. He was a proud fan of “America’s Team” the Dallas Cowboys.
Donnie departed this life on September 4, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eddie Lou Soan; father; Ronnie Sloan and sister, Virginia Parker.
He leaves to cherish his memories, the love of his life for the past 24 years, Debra Ray Sloan of Quitman, GA; his children, Doniecia Edwards of Quitman, GA, Dominique (Kayla) Sloan of Brunswick, GA, Dyeshera (Rolf) Carriere of Kyle, TX and Donnie Sloan, Jr., of Quitman, GA; Grandchildren, Nahla Sloan, Skylar Figueroa, Maleah Sloan, Valencia Sloan and Londyn Carriere; Siblings, Linda Crumpton, Ronnie Sloan, Jr. and Tracey Bellamy (Gail) all of Quitman, GA., Larry Sloan and Dennis Scott Sloan, both of Atlanta, GA; Special uncle, Johnny Crumpton of Dixie, GA; Father and mother-in-law, Bill and Shirley Ray of Quitman, GA; Sisters-in-law, Tangela Williams (Andra) of Quitman, GA, Saundra Ray of West Palm Beach, FL, Barbara Jean Carnegie of Quitman, GA and Venetta Miller of Lake Park, GA. Special Friends, Randolph Shepherd, Tommy Jackson, Darryl Perry and Darron Gilyard. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousin and friends.
A celebration of life will be Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 1PM on the Shumate Church of Christ Lawn with Minister Tony Herring, eulogist. Burial will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
