Mrs. Arcrista βLucyβ Rutledge was born September 4, 1948, in Columbus, Georgia to Ms. Lucille Harmon. Due to hardships faced by her birth mother, Mrs. Rosa Mae Persons began to raise her shortly after her birth.

As a dedicated Christian, she accepted Jesus Christ at an early age. She spent her adult life working in the service of the Lord at Mt. Mariah Baptist Church until she was called home for her heavenly reward.
Lucy was preceded in death by her loving husband N.E. Rutledge, Jr., mother Rosa Mae Person; her son-in-law Curtis Williams; her grandmother Katie Bales Davis; grandfather Johnny Harmon; brothers Willie(Doug) and Anthony (Tony) Holland, Arthur Person, and sister Rosemary Holland.

Hill), Marquitta Johnson, Renee Morgan (Wilbur), Charlene Holland; brothers, Roy Holland, Jr., David Person and Tyrone Holland; brother-in-law, Arthur Lee Rutledge; 28 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Acrista and I were classmates at Mother Mary Mission elementary school. She was my friend! I remember her just as everyone has described -kind and gentle with a big smile; a beautiful person inside and out! I received the sad news via the newspaper but after her burial or I would have been there! My prayers are for the repose of this faithful servant in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and for blessings from God above for all her family! I join my classmate Ella Fair Jones Rogers in extending prayers and sympathy to her family! -Lula Lunsford Huff.

Priscilla, I was saddened to hear of the passing of your mother and my dear friend and classmate. I was fortunate to spend a few hours with her a few years ago during a visit home. I have no words that will bring comfort to you and your brothers'hearts at this time. I can only offer my heartfelt sympathy. I know that your hearts are heavy and will be for sometime to come. I pray that it helps to know that your mother is in a better place and she is no longer suffering. She is singing with the angels. May God give you strength as you say your finally goodbye to your mother. May God bless and keep you and your family. In sympathy, Mary K. (Fagin) Butler Fort Washington, MD 20744-3661
