Obituary For Gregory Hargett, Sr.

Gregory Edward Hargett, Sr., 66, of Cove City died Sunday, August 22, 2021 at his residence.

Viewing hours are 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Friday at Oscar's Mortuary. His service is 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 28, 2021 at St. Peter's AME Zion Church, 617 Queen Street, New Bern. The interment will follow at the White Family Cemetery, Cove City.

He is survived by his wife, Daphenee Hargett of the home; two sons, Monico Hargett, Reverend Gregory Hargett, Jr., both of Cove City; two daughters, Lenette Hargett and VonKisha Gibbs both of New Bern; five brothers, George Hargett, Grover Hargett both of Cove City, McNeil Hargett, Vanceboro, Gilbert Hargett, New York, NY, Freddie Hargett Greensboro; sister, Ida Whitehead, Cove City; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.

Masks are required and social distancing followed.
