Timmy McGill was born July 19, 1968, to Robert McGill, Jr. and Mable Odums McGill in Warm Springs, GA. He passed away on July 26, 2021. Tim grew up in Woodbury, Georgia, surrounded by a huge loving community of family and friends. Tim attended Woodbury schools and graduated from Woodbury High School, class of 1988. Tim was very involved in activities at school, played the trumpet in the marching band, played the position of point guard in basketball (helping Woodbury High earn several state championships), and played corner back in football. He often told stories about selling oranges and fried peach pies to raise money for the school band and sports programs. He moved to the Riverdale area in the mid-1990s and was employed as a Production Coordinator at Hoshizaki America for 19 years. Tim married Elaine Palmer McGill in August of 1997. Together they, with the help of family, raised his son Jafiel Prather (Tae). Tim enjoyed spending time socializing with numerous family and friends and always made sure everyone enjoyed their visit. He and Elaine enjoyed traveling to Savannah and Tybee Island and spending time on the beach. Tim loved SEC football, and during the season, no one could even walk in front of the television. He filled his man cave (the garage) with everything football and usually wore red and black since he was a fan of the UGA Bulldogs. He also loved Georgia State University football and attended games as often as he could. Timmy is survived by his wife of 23 years, Elaine McGill, his son, Jafiel Prather (Tae), his father Robert McGill, Jr., his sisters Tangelia Jackson, Tarsha Pace, Tywanda McGill, and his brother Terrence McGill. He is also survived by his granddaughters TaMya Prather, Kaliyah Prather, his grandson Sincere Prather, and numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and friends. Tim is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Mable McGill. While his recent illness may have taken him from us, it will never rob us of the endless moments and memories we share. Many thanks to Tim’s best friend, Tyrone Prather for standing by the family during this challenging time.
