Obituary For Christopher Callahan

Christopher Francis Callahan, aged 43, of Durham NC passed on the morning of July 26, 2021. He was born in 1978 to Robert and Janet Callahan, joining his two older brothers, John and James, in the family. On October 10, 2010 Chris married the love of his life, Jocelyn, in Durham, NC. He was kind, charismatic, and loyal.

Chris was a loving and caring person who was always eager to lend a helping hand. His dad’s nickname for him was “Mr. Reliable”. He had a huge heart and found joy in the happiness of those around him. Chris had the ability to light up a room with his bright personality and infectious laugh. His generosity, energy, and laughter left an eternal impression on those who had the good fortune to know him. He made his living as a tile artisan, being very meticulous and taking great pride in his work. Above all, he prided himself on being a great husband, son, brother, and friend. His spirit will live on with the many memories he cultivated. He will be deeply missed.

Chris is survived by his wife, parents, brothers and two nephews, Aaron and Robert.

A public memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at American Cremation & Funeral Service, 1204 Person Street, Durham. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Chris’ name to the American Heart Association.

I grew up with Chris seemingly always at my house after school. First it started with constant playing basketball, then changed into just hanging out. Chris turned into a wonderful man and husband. Jocelyn was the love of his life and I know his life was forever better for her being in it. We will always miss you Chris and that great smile and hearty laugh. Love you forever my brother from a different mother. RIP. Michelle Potchak
