Obituary For Jonathan James Roseboro

Jonathan Roseboro was born on March 24, 1987, to Derita “Darlene” Roseboro and Johnny J. Bratton. Jonathan was the youngest of three but the exact middle grandchild to Floyd (Daddy) and Margaret (Ma) Roseboro which gave him a uniqueness of personality. He gave balance to his first cousins, always looking to include everyone. He could relate to the older three as well as the younger three. He was a patient and kind brother/cousin with a quick and easy smile.

Jonathan was educated in the Gaston County school system. After leaving school, he chose a career as a cook. He was employed at Jackson’s Cafeteria where he cooked, did line prep, and any other required task for the day.

Jonathan was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Floyd and Margaret Roseboro; his paternal grandfather, Sammy Lee Williams; his maternal aunt, Sandy Williams; his cousin/brother Terrell “Bossman” Miller.

His respectful and considerate nature, kindness and love of family will be missed by those he leaves to hold on to his memories: his mother, Darlene Roseboro and his father Johnny “Sam” Bratton; his paternal grandmother, Mattie Williams; his brother, Eric Roseboro and his two sisters, Samantha Roseboro and Erica Bratton; his aunts, Angela B. (Tanya Russell) Roseboro, Karen R. Miller, Nesey Phillips, Shirley Williams, Nicole Williams, and Dorothy Williams; his uncles, F. Eric Roseboro (Vivian), Fred Bratton and Sammy Lee Williams, Jr.; his nieces Ashanti Roseboro, Amani Roseboro, Ailani Asbury, Khe-Khe Brown, and Ibis Knatter; his nephews Eric Roseboro, Jr., Naziir and Emyree Asbury and D.J. Brown; his first cousins, Monique, Bianca, Devin and Jerry; and a host of great uncles and aunts, cousins and friends.

Jonathan shared a special love and relationship with Erica Brown, his Babe. His love for her was evident in his protection of and provision for her. Erica will lean into his strength in the days to come.

We will love you always, Jo-Nathan & miss you for just awhile.
