Obituary For Evangelist Barbara L. Brown

Barbara Brown was born on December 10, 1937 to the late Scipio Townsend & Daisy Boyd. She was born and raised in Fort Pierce, FL where she met & married Earl Brown Sr. who precedes her in death. Together they raised ten children. In her early years, she worked as a citrus contractor, which led he to a desire to complete her formal education.

In the early 70s, Barbara received Jesus as her personal Savior, while caring for her husband & raising her 10 children full time. When she met Jesus, He changed the trajectory of her life forever. She became very active in Church Ministry, and answered her call to serve God & His people. She loved God, her children, her family, and extended family. Her true heart’s desire was to guide God’s people, preach the gospel, and ensure her children & grandchildren knew Jesus. Barbara was a compassionate, loving, and faithful servant.

Mid life, God allowed her the opportunity to work for the St. Lucie County Sherriff’s Department. Deputy Brown worked her ministry and evangelized the lost and hurting while performing he daily duties. She answered the call:

”For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.” Matthew 25:35-36

At the Sherriff’s Department, she met and acquired numerous extended children & friends, and forged lifelong relationships. Barbara was a mother to the motherless, a mother to the needy, and a mother to all mothers. She flourished in God’s love.

In her later years, Barbara became a member of Harvest Time Deliverance and Fellowship Center under the leadership of Pastors Priscilla & Kenneth Smith. Here she continued to touch lives and spread God’s love. Wherever she went people were drawn to her like a magnet, and she gravitated toward them. Barbara’s love for God and church was unsurpassed.

On the morning of May 16, 2021, Barbara stepped over into the eternal realm. Her breath stopped here, but continues there. She is more alive today than she has ever been. She is finally home with the “great cloud of witnesses”, a place she has spoken about all her life. Barbara devoted her life to loving God and His people. Now, her voice is joined with the voices in heaven worshipping Father God, forever.

She leaves to cherish her devoted children; Barbara Boswell Lima OH, Earl Brown Jr Leesburg FL, Marilyn (Albert) Davis, William (Verna) Brown, Gary (Jackie) Brown, David Brown, Jennifer Barnhill Riverview FL, Daisy (Lee) Bell, Demetrius (Zena) Brown, Cedric (Corona) Brown, and Ella Goodman. Her sisters Lizenar (Vincent) Beckford, and Altamese Townsend. Special daughters; Priscilla Dicky, Ravonda Gordon, Angela Randall, and Andretta Finkley. Special son Earl Brown and so many, many other special loved ones. A host of her grand, great, great-great grand children, nieces and nephews and cousins that she loved dearly.
