I was fortunate to work for LT. Wideman over 5 years ago. He would frequent my convenience store in Macclenny. We shared a lot of small conversations about life in general. He was always a very friendly down to earth Lieutenant who will be missed by me and his JSO Corrections family. Always first to bring a joke into the conversation. Ofc RP Madsen

Widemond worked for both my husband and me. You kept us laughing and guessing what was next. Never a dull minute around you. My friend you will be missed by so many. You have many friends waiting for you in Heaven. Thank you for being the person you became over the years. The greatest pleasure a friend and supervisor can have is to watch their rookie grow, learn, and rise in rank as you did. Heaven will be will guarded by all the JSO that is there now. Tell Ken that I miss him and love him, tell the rest of JSO they are missed too. Donnell, Rest in Peace. Retired Sgt. E B Walker

My heart felt as if it dropped when I saw the post of Widemond passing. I've known Widemond at least 20 years and he was always the same towards me even after climbing rank. I remember when he invited me to his stand-up comedy show back in the day at some hole in the wall place. When the show was over he made a point to come over and talk to me, asking how did he do, do I think he could make it in comedy and thanking me for coming to show support. He was gifted to be funny, to tell jokes and make people laugh....it was second nature to him and he will be missed. I pray that God grant strength and comfort to the family. C. Mango

Widemond this is another hard one. You just didn't realize how many people cared about you. I know I stayed cussing you out, but you knew it was always in love. No one cheered more than you when I made Lieutenant and I will never forget the long talks we had and all the crazy jokes you told. I think back to the time Sgt. Patterson and Ronnie Smith played that trick on you, Sgt. Walker and Toliver back in the era of Black Plant. Man she really had yall going. I will always cherish the family that we became. Take your rest friend and know that you will be truly missed. Love your JSO sister Lt. M. Fletcher
