Obituary For John Coleman

Mr. John Coleman, 74, was born on Sunday, May 19, 1946 and departed this life on Saturday, May 8, 2021.

Funeral service will be held at Bell Yeager Freewill Baptist Church, 128 E. Cornwallis Rd., Durham, NC on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 12:00 noon, visitation service from 11:00 am to 12:00. Entombment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Masks are to be worn, social distancing required at all meetings, visits and services. All acts of kindness are appreciated.

Flowers will not be accepted on behalf of the family at Holloway Memorial Funeral Home. The family will advise you where to send flowers.

Dearest Essie, my heart is broken and saddened by this great loss. John was not only my cousin but, a friend. He and my husband were classmates and US army comrades. After my husband passed, John made a point of seeing that I was being treated fair and dedicated his serves to Veterans and their families. He will be deeply missed. John Coleman became my first truly good friend when I moved to Durham. We rode motorcycles together until he slowed down from riding.
