Graveside service for Nathaniel Jones, 80, of Opelika, AL, will be at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, April 11, 2021, at Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL 36801, Reverend Johnnie Nelms will officiate.

Mr. Jones, who passed away Tuesday, April 6, 2021at the Bethany House in Auburn, AL, was born February 14, 1941 in Russell County, Alabama.

Public viewing for Mr. Jones will be Saturday, April 10, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

He leaves to cherish his memory: four children, Brenda K. (Keith) Pollard of Opelika, AL, Melvin Jones of Prattville, AL, Gregory (Janet) Jones of Salem, AL and Jerome (Jennifer) Jones of Opelika, AL; eight grandchildren, April Jones of Opelika, AL, Brintun (Ninotchka) Jones of Ft. Braggs, NC, JaCairah Jones, Gregory J. Jones both of Salem, AL, Tamera Jones, Damien Jones both of Huntsville, AL, Jessika Pollard and Trevan (Susie) Bynum of Opelika, AL; six great-grandchildren, JeyOnnie Jones of Opelika, AL, Daysia Jones, DaNiya Jones both of Hawaii, Kalaigha Jones, Trevion Bynum and Tremauri Bynum both of Opelika, AL; one sister, Alma (Melvin) Lewis of Columbus, GA; four sisters-in-law, Alice Cook, Bernice Holland. Lois Shealey and Gail Wilson all of Auburn, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

CDC recommends that people wear cloth face coverings in public settings when around people outside of their household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.
