Mitchum, Mrs. Shirley, A resident of Montgomery, AL departed this life on Sunday, March 7, 2021. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 12:00 Noon from Hayneville Cemetery, Hayneville, AL, Pastor Willie D. Lewis, officiating. Mrs. Mitchum will lie in repose on Friday, March 12, 2021 from 1-8PM at Phillips-Riley Funeral Home.

To the Mitchum Family We are sorry to hear about the passing of Shirley Mitchum. Our deepest thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends at this time. Please draw comfort in this promise form God where our Creator assures all grieving hearts that our love ones will live again. That promise is recorded at John 5:28-29. You will also find the promise recorded at Acts 24:15. From both of the recorded expressions, God is giving us His personal guarantee that our departed love ones will certainly be raised up in life again The scriptures clearly reveal that God is the source of all creative life. So when it comes to restoring life back to those who have died, God has the power and the desire to do so. For the human family, we are ever so close in this promised arrangement taking place. Really the future is bright for Shirley, and for other who have fallen asleep in death. Until this arrangement begins to take place, we can use this time to learn all that we can about the resurrection blessing that will take place earth wide. There are nine accounts in the Bible that speaks about the resurrection blessing from God. Here is just one such example that is recorded at Acts 9:36-42. Yes I hope that all will get a chance to see how these verses apply to Shirley, and a host of others who await their personal awakening from the deep sleep of death. So please keep these words of comfort near your hearts at all times. Remember that when God makes a promise, it beomes reality. For it is impossible for God to lie.(Titus 1:2)
