I first met Lewis at Montague Hardware. He always welcomed me with a smile and hand shake. Lewis was very knowledgeable and could always get me what I needed. I would in return help him in Food Lion. He would never fail to stop and speak. He loved his sliced fat back, I would always save him some in the back. He was a kind, gentle man that loved his country. He will be greatly missed. Rest In Peace my friend Jamie Powell

It's so difficult to lose someone so dear, Uncle Lewis you have been a light shining on a hill. It's hard to imagine I will no longer be seeing your face; and while it's hard to say good-by, I know you woke up in Jesus arms with Aunt Jean next to you! I have tears mixed with smiles knowing Aunt Jean the love of your life was there to meet you. Thank you and Aunt Jean for all your love and kindness you have given to me, it meant so much and will never be forgotten! We love you but God loves you best, REST IN PEACE Uncle Lewis.

Uncle Lewis you may be gone from this earth but you will always have a special place in my heart. I do remember visiting with you and aunt Jean during the summer. You would take me different places. You once carried me to the navel base and encouraged me to go up on a ship (steps made of cloth) even-though I was afraid. I held your hand and I knew I was safe. So many lovely memories with you and Aunt Jean on Only Road, Norfolk, VA. It's time for you to rest- Rest In Peace. Love, Norma Dean

Uncle Lewis thank you for the love and support you and Aunt Jean gave me through the years. I still remember me trips to Norfolk and my first fried crabs experience. (So good). I also hope you can talk to somebody about making coats for chickens. (A Hite/Faulk joke). Love you much and give hugs to Aunt Jeannie Weannie ❤️

Uncle Lewis, we had some great times together during my stay with you while at Norfolk State University. You and Aunt Jean treated me like your own child and I sincerely thank both of you dearly. Remember this, the next time we meet (hopefully in the promise land), make sure you get a good fishing reel so that I won't be pulling fish in that I catch by the string instead of using the reel (a secret joke between Uncle Lewis and me). I miss you man and hope you enjoy seeing Aunt Jean again. - Love You, Larry
