Obituary For Carlton Dexter Baker

Carlton Dexter Baker, age 57, of Marianna, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on February 15, 2021 at the Calhoun Liberty Hospital in Blountstown, Florida.

Carlton was born and raised in Marianna, Florida. He was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior while attending St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church throughout his developmental years in Marianna, Florida.

Carlton graduated from Marianna High School and then enlisted in the United States Navy. After discharge from the Navy, he pursued careers in a variety of industries including commercial fishing and construction.

A walk-through only viewing will be held on Friday, February 19, 2021 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm (CST) at Vann Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm (CST) on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Orange Hill Cemetery in Marianna, Florida.

Masks are required for the viewing and service to protect the health and safety of all who attend. This is being done in conjunction with state and federal guidelines for social distancing, masks, and hand hygiene.

Carlton leaves to cherish a lifetime of fond memories his family including: his Mother, Lillie Mae Porter; his Sisters Cynthia B. Witsell (husband Anthony), Sylvia B. Stroman (husband James), and brother Stevie E. Baker (wife Erica); Nephews, Brandon Stroman (wife Knecole), Christopher Stroman (wife Marjorie), Justin Baker, and Julian Ambrose; Nieces, Valarie W. Asbury (husband William), Nicole Witsell, Courtney Baker and Alexa Ambrose; Grand Nieces Olivia and Victoria; and Grand Nephews Cason, Michael, William, and Chase. In addition, his Uncle Roy, Aunt Helen, Uncle Eddie, Aunt “Tot” and numerous cousins will all have lasting memories and stories to share at family gatherings.
