Robert Eric "Tootie" Watson, 67, was born Nov 10th, 1953 in Gastonia NC, and departed his life on February 12, 2021, in Spartanburg, SC with his family by his side.
He is survived by his parents: Robert and Josie Watson of Spartanburg SC; sisters: Robbin W. Nichols of Greensboro, NC and Christal W. Pereira of Greenville, SC; children: Robert Eric Ford of Gastonia, NC, Erica Wright of Gastonia, NC, Jermaine Alexander of Charlotte, NC and Tenia Watson of Greer, SC, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
In his earlier years, Tootie graduated from Ashbrook High School and continued on to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from North Carolina A&T. Tootie had a larger-than-life personality and touched many by his jokes and bright smile. He was smooth with the ladies, a game slayer, and an overall outlaw. To have known him is to have loved him.
The way he died is like the way he lived; he wrote his own rules, fought authority, and paved his own way. Those who knew him lost a shining light in their lives. With the deepest sorrow, we would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, and prayers.

To my Watson and Marshall family I am heartbroken to learn of Tootie's passing no words for this terrible loss. Tootie was a sweet cousin fun loving in school just super cool. We lost touch after the family moved from Gastonia but, I would see Josie at the Highland reunion always asked about the family. Our loss but Heaven's gain. Love you cousin. Linda Barber Dawkins
