Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., Red Hill M.B. Church Cemetery, Six Mile Road, Crystal Springs, MS 39059.

Charles Lee Tillman was born May 30, 1948 to the late Mr. S.Q. Hester and Ms. Sarah Johnson. After his mother’s death, Charles was raised by his Grandmother: the late Mary Lou Wilson Johnson and his Aunt: the late Mary Ann Johnson. Charles accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and joined Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Charles remained a faithful member of the church until his death. He was a member of the Usher’s Board. Charles enjoyed watching football and cheering on his favorite team the Dallas Cowboys. He also enjoyed watching Lifetime Movies and talking on the phone with family and friends. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His Saints.” -Psalms 116:15. Charles departed this life early Wednesday morning on January 28, 2021. He was preceded in death by his Stepfather: L.C. Tillman, sister, Annie Mae Wilson, brother Fred Lyon Tillman, and step-daughter Felicia Thedford. Charles leaves to cherish his memory: his life partner, Mary Jenkins Thedford of Hazlehurst, MS, two brothers: O.C. Tillman of Jackson, MS and Jerry Taylor of Crystal Springs, MS and one sister: Tameka Johnson of Crystal Springs, MS; one son: Fredrick (Kecia) Tillman of Ridgeland, MS, one daughter: Tammie L. Tillman of Brandon, MS, one step-son: Michael Jenkins and one step-daughter: Za’Kiria May both of Hazlehurst, MS. One uncle: Sunny Johnson of Baton Rouge, LA and one aunt: Daisy Gayles of Slidell, LA. Six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends.
