Minister Shelley Faye Washington was born September 14, 1953 in Enterprise, AL and followed God’s plan and was called Home to be with Him on January 26, 2021.

A lifelong resident of Montgomery, Alabama, Shelley Washington retired from the Montgomery Public School after 25 years of hard work and dedication. A strong woman of faith, Shelley was a member of Macedonia Ministries for over 35 years, faithfully showing up every Sunday to show her never-ending love for the Lord. That love drove her countless community service and outreach projects through the years. Whether it was ministering to those in need, witnessing to save souls, or passing out tracts, Shelly was a strong woman of faith and encouraged all those around her to know and serve Him.

Shelley is preceded in death by her parents Cassie Blackman and Charlie Brown, and siblings Rebecca, Edith, Gayle, Sonny, and Charlie Jr..

Left behind to cherish her memories is her husband Richard Washington,her siblings Frankie, Bobby, Patsy Ann, and Faye her children Reginald Percival, Tonya (Jonathan) Foster, Shem Brown, Tiffany (Clarence) Courseault, her host of grandchildren Chelsea, Cassie, Coi, Cai, and Jonathan Jr. “LeeJay” LaDarreun, Denise, RJ, Shemira and Kamora, along with a host of nieces and nephews, friends and loved ones.

Her Homegoing celebration begins with a visitation on Saturday from 1pm to 7pm at E.G. Cummings Funeral home. The celebration continues Sunday at 2pm at Lucas Cemetery, Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, AL ( next to Alabama Heritage Cemetery).
