Ruth Rose Mings Dawkins entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. She was born on August 15 to the late Rufus Mings and Rose Lee Smith. Mrs. Dawkins was the last living relative of her immediate family. She was the widow of Willam Dawkins.

Ruth was a member of Holy Temple Baptist Church.

Left to cherish fond and loving memories are: Geraldine (Marion) Taylor of Brooklyn, NY, Modestine Byers of Cowpens, SC, Ruth Ann (Ronnie) Lewis of Glendale, SC, Brenda Kay (Eddie) Aull of Spartanburg, SC, William Dawkins, Jr. of New York City, NY and Floyd Gilree of Spartanburg, SC; fifteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren; sixteen great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by: two brothers, Thomas Mings, Sr. and John Wesley Smith; two sisters, Minnie Mings and Rachael M. Vance; two grandchildren, Pam Pryor and Miranda M. Aull.

A Celebration of the Life of Ruth Mings Dawkins will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in Lincoln Memorial Gardens, 2310 Cannons Campground Rd., Drayton, SC.
