Obituary For Charlie L. Napper

Charlie L. Napper departed from this life Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Sovah Health- Martinsville, VA. He was born February 27, 1939 to the late Charlie Lewis and the late Martha R. Millner Napper in McComas, WV.

In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his son, Charlie L. Napper Jr., two sisters, Nonna Deering and Brenda Napper Hylton, and two brothers, George “GT” Napper and Freddie Napper.

Mr. Napper was a member of High Ridge Missionary Baptist Church. Where he as a member of the mass choir, deacon board, culinary committee, and men’s choir. He was a graduate from George Washington Carver High School class of 1956. He went on to work for Fieldcrest Mills as a mechanic for 40 plus years.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted wife Geneva Mullins Napper of the home, two loving daughters, Sharon L. Landry of Chester, VA and Daphne D. Napper of Henry County, VA; one sister, Anne Scales of Henry County, VA; three brothers-in-law, Benjamin Mullins (Christine), Clyde Mullins (Frances) of Henry County, VA, and Thomas Hairston of Cascade, VA; one grandson, Bradley Patterson; one granddaughter, Kaylin Patterson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A graveside service for Charlie L. Napper will be held Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Carver Memorial Gardens at 1 P.M. A public viewing will be held Monday, December 28, 2020 at Hairston Funeral Home from 1 P.M. to 5 P.M. In accordance with the CDC, a face covering, and social distancing will be required. The family will be receiving other family and friends at the home, 358 Chestnut Knob Road, Martinsville, VA 24112 all other times.

In leu of flowers make donations payable to High Ridge Missionary Baptist Church Sunday School.
