Brenda Gravely Manns, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 15, 2020 in SOVAH Memorial Hospital Martinsville VA. God knew it was time for His child to enter into eternal rest. We thank God she has fought a good fight and now she has finished the race God have given her.
Brenda, 71 years was born January 11, 1949 in Martinsville, VA to the late William H Gravely and Laura P Gravely. Her love of 48 years Thomas Manns preceded her in death in 2017. Brenda would say she was a walking miracle, who had a blessed life.
In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by three brothers, William Gravely, Richard Gravely, and Marshall Gravely.
Brenda was a member of High Street Baptist Church of Martinsville, VA. She worked at Sales Knitting, Standard Garment, and while at Dupont, she worked part time as a nurse’s aide. Worked at Southprint and managed her own day care for five years. She was a graduate of Albert Harris High School, class of 1967.
Brenda leaves Three children, Thomas G. Manns, Marcus D. Manns of Atlanta GA, and Martina N. Manns of the home. Two brothers, Ronald “Coo” Gravely of Martinsville, and Donald Courts of Beckley, WVa, and three sisters, Linda Gravely of Martinsville, Donna Courts of Charleston, WVa and Ruby “Susie” Brayboy of Danville, VA. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 21, 2020 at 1 p.m. at the C.R.V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home with Pastor Matthew Brown, Eulogist. Burial will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens. A public viewing will be held on Sunday, December 20, 2020 at Hairston Funeral Home between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. In accordance with the CDC, a face covering, and social distancing will be required. Other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 205 Massey St., Martinsville, VA.
