Mary Lou Gamble Harris, 83, widow of Will O. Harris, died Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Prisma Health Tuomey, Sumter, SC. She was born November 30, 1937 in Alcolu, SC, a daughter of the late James W. Gamble and Etta Durant Gamble.
Private Funeral services for Mrs. Harris will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Hayes F. Samuels, Sr. Memorial Chapel, 114 N. Church Street, Manning, SC. Rev. Jerome McCray, officiating, Rev. Clarence Hunter and Rev. George Hicks, assisting. Burial will follow in the Cypress Fork AME Church Cemetery, Alcolu, SC.
Due to COVID-19, the family is not receiving visitors.
Mr. and Mrs. Harris lived across the street from us in NY. Mama Mary is what we called her on the block. They didn't have children, but she had a lot of us. Ms. Mary NEVER stop praying for us. I talked to her back in October and she still kept praying for us. What a blessed woman to have around. She will be truly missed. Love You Mama Mary John L. (Johnny)
