Bettie Parker, 91, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020

Funeral service 12:00 p.m. Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Hunter-Odom Funeral Service, 121 S. Fairview Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27801 with Elder Scott Jones, officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Gethsemane.

Visitation 1 hour prior to the service.

I will cherish the memories of having you tell me about how you grew up, how hard you worked all your life and how you visited and cared for others. I meant it as I always said "I want to be like you aunt Bettie when I grow up" and how you would smile and even laugh sometimes when I'd say that. We talked, laughed and prayed together. How blessed is that?

Grandma...it was an honor to be given someone as loving as you. Though not by blood; but your were the best grandma a girl could have. Your love, memories, laughs, and that serious face you would make when you were waiting for the truth; I will always treasure. Rest now grandma...your job is done. Love you, Irene.

Grandma Bettie always made sure I was taken care of, from us picking pomegranates together to her sewing me beautiful blankets and coats and going shopping with her, I'll always cherish her light.

Miss Betty was a woman who didn't mine workings. She enjoyed working in her garden. Whenever I saw her she always has a smile. She was a determined lady.RIP Miss Betty
