Mr. Ellis Jackson was born on December 26,1936 in Marion County to the late Acy Jackson and Linnie Jackson.
He accepted Christ at an early age where he first attended Friendship Missionary Baptist Church as an active member where he was a member of the brotherhood; helped in lawn care for the church cemetery, enjoyed attending Sunday School, and was a member of the trusty board.
He had a passion for truck driving throughout his work career among other jobs he accomplished through dedication and faithful work. Besides church and working, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He then came to marry his other half, Maggie Johnson on April 7, 1959 and the couple had a daughter named Margaret Jackson. On Saturday, October 24, 2020, an angel called back home to be with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, Glucenia; his special mother, Lucielle Weary; his brothers, James Jackson, Robert Jackson, Alton Jackson, and Acy Jackson, Jr.
Mr. Ellis Jackson leaves to cherish his loving memories, his loving and devoted wife Maggie Jackson; a daughter, Margaret Jackson of Columbia, MS; two grandchildren, Jena (Davon) Lee of Hattiesburg, MS, and Jermar Johnson of Trenton, NJ; one great grandchild, Malachi Lee; one brother, Sonny Jackson of Louisiana; four sisters, Carolyn (George) Payton, Brunetta Howard of Hattiesburg, MS, Martha Johnson of Milwaukee, WI, Ruth Johnson of New Brunswick, NJ, and Jessie Mae Peters of Columbia, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
