Obituary For Martha Matilda Solomon

Martha Solomon passed away on September 30, 2020, A Graveside service will be held October 24, 2020, at 1 pm Mulberry Baptist Church Cemetery, Farnham VA. Reverend Roy White Eulogist, and Rev Dr. Marion Tappscot, Interim Pastor.

The kind-hearted Diva Martha Matilda Solomon (nee' Livingstone) of Fredericksburg, VA went to shine in glory on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at Henrico Doctors Hospital in Richmond, VA, after a brief battle with COVID19. Born the fourth of seven children to the late Willie Mo Livingstone and Deaconess Ferneil Naught Brown on November 25, 1961, as a proud Brooklyn, New Yorker. The eloquent Martha was educated in Brooklyn Public Schools and graduated from Sarah J. Hale High School in 1979. She attended John Jay College of Criminal Justice briefly before being joined in matrimony to Carlton Solomon. Of that union, Martha entered the most rewarding role of her life as Mother, which she epitomized flawlessly, to her four children: Sheree, Chearonn aka Ronnie, Christopher, and Rachel -for whom she dedicated all of her energy and love. Martha decided to move to Virginia in the mid-'80s where she found the Lord Jesus Christ and dedicated her life, serving valiantly and faithfully all of her days. She witnessed God's saving grace and mercy on her life to her then dying Father, younger siblings, and to every soul she encountered. She was an earnest and hardworking employee of Mary Washington Hospital Center & its affiliated organizations for over 13 years, most recently as the Office Coordinator at the internal medicine office of Dr. Parab in Fredericksburg, VA. Martha was known to always arrive dressed fashionably and styled from head-to-toe. "Hair did, nails done, everything did". Martha could sing in the softest Soprano and enjoyed being on the Praise & Worship team with her sister Ferneil. She was talented at doing make-up, sewing designs to her unique outfits, and crocheting blankets that still surround her children and grandchildren in warmth to this day. On her journey, she used her gift of writing to pen poetry for others and authored two books: "Christmas In Da Hood" and "Life as a Ghetto Child" -the first she created with her eldest son Ronnie, and the latter sharing the details of her rise from a rough upbringing in Brooklyn. An avid shopper, Martha invested in creating a care post for her family when she became a first-time homeowner in 2017. She relished her daily water aerobic workouts, made it a point to facilitate family vacations, and educated her grandchildren Sariah and Eli at the local museum regularly. Martha Matilda was the most caring, giving, loving, joyous, gentlewoman. She loved family which was not limited to blood relatives. She intentionally journeyed to visit and enjoy the endless laughs only her baby brother, Treadon, could provide. She was proceeded in death by two sons: Carlton Jr. and Samuel, twin grandbabies (unnamed), her parents, siblings: Willie Mo Jr., Angila Rhone, Rhonda Livingstone, and Thruston Livingstone. Left to cherish her legacy of love, warmth, and triumph are her four children -whom she never ceased to encourage build-up, and dote-on: Sheree, Chearonn aka Ronnie (Fredericksburg, VA), Christopher (Kristen, Charlotte, NC), and Rachel - her Shirley Emma (Woodbridge, VA). Beloved grandchildren: Sariah and Eli Doyle (Warrenton, VA). Former Spouse: Carlton Solomon (Woodbridge, VA). Granddogs: Kinxton & Slinky-Piglet. Sister Minister Ferneil White (Pastor Roy, Culpeper, VA). Brother: Treadon Livingstone (Andria, Fernandina Beach, FL). Best Friend: Becky Lebron (Clayton, NC). A large host of many nieces, nephews, friends, coworkers, and associates. The family would like to express extreme gratitude to the Nurses, Doctors, and employees of Henrico Doctor's Hospital and to thank everyone for their prayers, and support during this very difficult time. Remember to Love, Always! Sheree "Be completely humble and gentle: be patient, bearing with one another in Love" Ephesian 4:2

Martha always made Xzavaier and I feel welcomed and was ready to give a hug when she saw us. She will be missed dearly. I hope memories of her help all her children and grandchildren as they transition into life without their mother/grandmother. I know each of them are equipped with many things she taught. I'm grateful to have had an opportunity to get to know Martha and her family. Love and hugs! Theresa (Xzavaier), FCCIOC
