Mrs. Doris Lewis Vann, 91, widow of the late Mr. Augustus Vann, Sr., entered into rest Sunday, September 27, 2020.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at Old Hammond Grove Baptist Church Cemetery all social distancing and masks requirements will be observed.
She was born July 14, 1929 in Horry County, South Carolina to Rob Lewis and Gertie Bellamy.
Mrs.Vann worked as a cook for many years at Silas X. Floyd School and C.T. Walker. She later worked at Bon Air Hotel, before retiring.
Mrs. Vann was married to Augustus Vann, Sr. for 50 years and this union was blesssed with seven children. She was a member of Hammond Grove Baptist Church.
She loved cooking for her family, talking junk to her kids and her grandchildren and tending to her beautiful flowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Augustus Vann; daughter, Chandra Byrd Vann; one sister, Gussie Lewis; two brothers, James L. Lewis and Sam Lewis; one granddaughter, Keesha L. Williams; daughter, Yvonne Lewis; one sister, Anne Lewis.
Survivors daughters, Alethia Vann and Shelia Bellamy; sons, Wayne Vann, Steven (Jackie) Vann and Augustus (Maryanne) Vann, Jr.; grandchildren, Janetta Vann and Hughey Vann, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
