Iris Arlia Burris passed away at her home on September 18, 2020 at the age of 77. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Ira Haywood and Gertha Kearns.

She graduated from William Penn High School, Class of 1961. Following her graduation, she attended Guilford Technical Community College and earned a degree in Nursing. After 25 years of dedicated service, Iris retired from High Point Regional Hospital as a proud Nurse.

Iris is survived by her three daughters, Valora Dark (Keith) of High Point, NC, Renee McLean (John) of Fayetteville, NC and Greta Martin of Kernersville, NC; loving sisters, Dr. Bobbie Reddick of Durham, NC and Mrs. Carolyn Littlejohn of Charlotte, NC; ten grandchildren; Jessica, Justin, Cicely, Alliyah, Brandon, Chelsea, Kelsea, Delores, Whitney, Joshua; fourteen great-grandchildren; a wonderful niece, Latoya and two nephews, Michael and Donald Jr.; the Matthews family and a host of cousins, family and friends.

A private service of remembrance will be held Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Carolina Biblical Gardens. Mrs. Burris may be viewed on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel.
