Obituary For Rosetta Patterson

Mrs. Rosetta Marie Werts Patterson was born December 9, 1934 in Gaston County, North Carolina and on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at the Alexandria Place in Gastonia, North Carolina, where Rosetta was residing, she was called to heaven. Rosetta was the daughter of the late Eddie Werts, Sr. and Alee Baxter Werts.

She was a longtime member of St. Stephens A.M.E. Zion Church in Gastonia, North Carolina until her health started to decline.

Rosetta was a graduated of Highland High School “Class of 1953” and was a self employed Cosmetologist. Rosetta was a great wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was affectionately called “Mama” by her family. She will be truly missed.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Gerald Patterson; grandson, Jonna Hardin; her siblings, Dorothy W. Jones, Doris W. Neely and Eddie Werts, Jr.; niece, Phyllis J. Johnson.

She leaves to cherish precious memories her daughters, Rita Patterson and Rhonda P. Hardin of Gastonia, N.C., Lorie P. Sadler (Patrick) of Ranlo, N.C. and Sharon P. Byrd (Michael) of Mt. Holly, N.C.; four grandchildren, Devin Barber (Catherine) and Chase Patterson (Brittany) of Gastonia, N.C., Chavis Byrd of Mt. Holly, N.C. and Maya Hardin of Winston-Salem, N.C.; four great grandchildren, Izabella Barber, Niles Barber, Treston Patterson and Zariana Patterson all of Gastonia, N.C.; special godson, Joshua McKoy of Gastonia, N.C.; special nieces, Danita Gordon of Gastonia, N.C. and Juanita Cumberlander of Charlotte, N.C.; special nephew, James Jones of Gastonia, N.C.; three sisters-in-law, Shirley P. Williams of Lincolnton, N.C., Almeta Patterson of Iron Station, N.C. and Dorothy Patterson of Detriot, MI; special friend of the family, Hattie Hardin; a host of other nieces, nephews relatives and cherish friends. PLACE OF SERVICE St. Stephen A.M.E. Zion Church 201 W. Franklin Blvd. Gastonia, North Carolina

DATE & TIME: Monday, October 3, 2016 @ 3:00 P.M.

VISITATION The family will receive friends at the church for thirty minutes prior to funeral (2:30 until 3:00 P.M.)

BURIAL: Hollywood Cemetery Gastonia, N.C
