Alice Ann Pratt was born on July 28, 1951 in Fort Pierce, Florida to the parents of Julius Samuel Pratt Sr.,a native of Nassau, Bahamas and Nina Merle Ward, native of Alabama. Alice Pratt was the third of six brothers and three sisters, totalling nine siblings.
In 1960 at a young age Alice A. Pratt met the love of her life Jimmie C. Smith Sr. In the 8th Street Neighborhood affectionately known as "Browns Court" in the beautiful city of Fort Pierce, Florida. After eight years of Bliss they Wed in Holy Matrimony on July 5, 1968.
Jimmy and Alice bought their first and only home in 1972, where they lived in harmony for 48 Blessed years together, raising their four children whom she loved very much. One thing that we know for sure about Alice is that she loved cooking. It didn't matter if you were in the neighborhood, a friend, family member, or even a stranger; you always had a plate her house or when leaving her home. She will truly be missed.
On Thursday, August 27, 2020 Alice Ann Pratt Smith went home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her father, Julius S. Pratt Sr.; mother, Nina M. Ward; brothers, Dodridge Pratt, Noel Pratt, Jimmie Lee Horton, Julius Pratt Jr, Ancel Pratt; sister, Cynthia Mays.
Alice leaves to cherish her precious memories her husband, Jimmy C. Smith Sr., of Fort Pierce, Florida; children, Velma (Alex) Smith-Christian of Lake Placid, Jimmie C. (Chantres) Smith Jr., of Loxahatchee, Florida, Colleen Miller Smith of Fort Pierce, Florida; Dodridge (Shameka) Smith of Port St. Lucie, Florida; eight-grandchildren, Alycetta Smith, Dante Smith, Dexter Miller, Noel Miller, Jimmie C. Smith III, Ivy Smith, Craig Jackson, Cherish, Jackson; brother, Clyde (Harriett) Pratt; sisters, Hattie Mae Hall, Brenda Johnson, Carol Huggins; Aunt, Mel" Uncle, Vincent; and a host of other loving relatives, in-laws, goddaughters, nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends that will miss her dearly.
Public visitation for Alice Pratt Smith will take place on Friday, September 4, 2020 by way of our drive-thru in the rear of Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL between the hours of 5:00pm and 7:00pm. A funeral service will convene on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 11:00am at Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL. Burial will immediately follow in Riverview Memorial Park in Fort Pierce, FL.
Although many venues have opened and the restrictions of COVID 19 have been relaxed, we here at Stone Brothers Funeral Homes are still enforcing the guidelines set forth by the CDC and FDOH to protect our families and our staff. We ask that you respect this, as it could very well save your life. We also ask that you acknowledge and execute the 6 ft. social distancing guidelines as well.
