Obituary For Eddie “Scoop” Richardson

Mr. Eddie "Scoop" Richardson, 70

On December 4, 1949 the day of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Eddie Lee Richardson, affectionately known as “Scoop”, was born to the late Ike and Leols Richardson. He was the 4th sibling out of eleven. He was educated in the Brooks County School system. After graduating from high school, he enlisted into the United States Army Reserve. He was a dedicated and devoted employee at Quitman Manufacturing Company for many years before his retirement. He departed his life on August 24, 2020 to eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his wife Sarah Dean Richardson. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory, his children Shayla Richardson, Quitman, GA, Lionel Richardson (Toni) Quitman, GA; his grandkids T'yanna Richardson, Deshawn Newsome, Ky'moni Richardson, Li'Aunna Richardson; one great grand A'lonii Richardson; sisters Frances Neloms (Robert), Deloris Lane, Joyce Hollis (King Hollis Jr.), Catherine Richardson, Mary Ann Richardson, Ernestine Williams (Larry), Alabama, Mary Joe Arnold, Gloria Jean Arnold, all of Quitman, GA, Marie Manning (Anthony), Joann Demps, both of Valdosta, GA; one brother Freddie Richardson ( Linda), Valdosta, GA; one sister-in-law Mary Morris (Leon); one brother-in-law Larry Washington and a host of other relatives and friends.

Private services were Sunday, August 30, 2020 at The Morning Star Baptist Church Cemetery in Quitman, GA with Pastor Floyd Demps officiating. Visit stevensmcgheefuneralhome.com to share condolences. Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
