Obituary For Jermaine Clowney

Spartanburg, SC | Mr. Jermaine DeCarlos Clowney, 45 peacefully entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 19, 2020. He was the son of the late Dorothy Clowney and the late Arthur Talley. Jermaine was the husband of Teresa Briggs-Clowney. Jermaine joined Cleveland Chapel Baptist Church at an early age where served faithfully as Armor Bearer for Pastor Timothy J. Brown. He was later ordained as a Deacon under the leadership of Anthony R. Wilson. Jermaine was a member of the Cleveland Chapel Mass Choir and Cleveland Chapel All Male Choir. He was also a graduate of Spartanburg High School Class of 1993. Jermaine was a former employee of Covington and Excel.

Left to cherish fond and loving memories is his devoted wife of 21 years, Teresa Briggs-Clowney. Godson Tyler Staggs Burgess of Connecticut and Goddaughter, Kamaree Martin of Spartanburg, SC. Sisters Ruth Jackson of Greenville, SC, Brenda (Leroy) Bomar and Shijuana (Dr. David) Smith both of Spartanburg, SC. His mother-in-law Brenda Miller of Spartanburg, SC. Father-in-law Robert (Venida) Briggs, Sr. of Spartanburg, SC. Sister-in-laws Lisa Briggs, Amber Briggs both of Woodruff, SC and Katrina Canada of Spartanburg, SC. Brother-in-laws Alvin Wray of Connecticut, Ruben Roland, Robert (Kenya) Briggs Jr. both of Spartanburg. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Jermaine was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Clowney, his father Arthur Talley, his grandfather Clemard Clowney and his sister Ruby Talley.

A Celebration of the Life of Mr. Jermaine DeCarlos Clowney will be held Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard Street, Spartanburg, SC. Pastor Timothy J. Brown will be officiating.
