Funeral services will be Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 1:00 p.m., Westhaven Funeral Home Chapel, 19068 Highway 51, Hazlehurst, MS 39083 with burial in Damascus Church of Christ Holiness Cemetery in Hazlehurst, MS.

Troy Lee Morris was born July 22, 1962 in Hazlehurst, Mississippi to the late L.C. Morris and Doris Williams Morris. He departed this life on Saturday, Augusta 7, 2020, at 4:30 a.m.

Troy joined Greater Damascus Church of Christ (Holiness) USA at an early age. Throughout his youngest and teenage years, he attended faithfully. Troy attended Hazlehurst City School District. After finishing high school, he attended Utica Junior College and Jackson State University. In December of 1993, he became a Mississippi Hihgwat Patrolman. After serving faithfully for 27 years, he was promoted to lieutenant Of Troop M in Brookhaven Mississippi until the time of his death. Troy was also employed with the United States Postal Services for approximately 16 years.

Troy was tough when needed to be, but he had a big heart. He loved to laugh and tell stories about the things he encountered on the road while on duty. Many of his family and friends will remember him for his sense of humor.

Troy leaves to cherish his love and memories; his wife Gale Morris of Natchez, MS, daughter; Latisha Wilbert (Byron) of Byram, MS, two brothers; John Morris of Crystal Springs, MS, Louis Morris (Lavern) of Madison, Ms, one grandchild; Kaleb Wilbert of Byram, MS. He also leaves to cherish his love and memories a host of nieces and nephews, five brothers in law; four sisters in law, a precious aunt, Ella Killingsworth of Cleveland, MS, friends,the United States Postal Services and Mississippi Highway Patrolman families all of whom he loved dearly.
