Nikki and Tracie, My heart breaks for your loss of your dear Mom and for my loss of my dear friend. My thoughts go out to you on this most sad of times. No words can take away the sorrow we all feel seems like a dream from which we cannot be awaken. As a nurse on 7 Blum I remember Aggie as the most competent unit secretary, a loyal employee, protective of her staff and bountiful from her heart. While she saw generations of nurses, doctors, medical assistants, and housekeepers come and go over her 42 years at MSMC, she remained the cornerstone of that unit, the go-to girl, the know-it-all, the mother hen who watched carefully over her flock, never allowing any misuse or abuse of her staff. One learned quickly not to mess with Aggie. Always the patient and family advocate her smile was the first thing patients saw upon arrival and the last vision upon their discharge. Aggie earned my respect when I was a young and new nurse and she gained my loyalty as a friend when I resigned and relocated 8 years later. Our friendship remained for decades as it did with many of her co-workers because that's who she was: a dedicated, loving and thoughtful friend. Always willing to help someone else, remember a special day, or text or call out of the blue just because. I will miss her smile, her laughter, the sparkle in her eyes. The sun has set in Miami and it's been replaced by the largest star visible at night to remind me that the sparkle seen in Aggie's eyes still exists. I grieve with you across the miles in NC, but we can look up at the night sky and see the same star and know our angel is watching over us. May God bless her beautiful family. With warm affection, Chris Mozzanica Carlsten
